Practice Tip - Making KPIs work

If you believed all you read accountants should spend most of their time selling value added services to clients. But most don't, and I'm fairly sure most never will.

Most prepare accounts and tax returns. And the way they might do it will change, but I think most accountants in practice will be making their living this way for some time to come.

But there's a problem with that. First of all most people don't want a set of accounts or a tax return. They prepare them because they have to. That means they're not exactly willing customers.

Good article, BTW.

KPI -> Key Performance Indicator.
Quite a large area in it's own right, but links in nicely to.....wait for it...."the balanced scorecard".

it maks perfect sense as much of RM's stuff does, it is nice to see all our beliefs affirmed, even if we dont allways follow them!
