Staff management: Are you focusing on the right things?

- If your organisation has been hit by redundancies or loss of clients, consider your KPIs.
- Have you got the right leaders in place and are they inspiring staff and clients?
- Implement your performance management processes regularly.
- Focus on what you and your team are doing together and encourage them.
Patricia Wheatley-Burt of HR consultancy Trafalgar looks at what KPIs managers should be looking at to improve staff performance during tough times.
With such seismic shifts in the economy as we've seen recently, management teams have to be very fleet of foot to ensure they are focusing on the ‘right’ spinning plates. The things that were imperative in 2007 are not relevant today and the situation is likely to change again next year, so what should businesses be focusing on for 2010?
