Your clients will also ask you for suggestions on which accounting software to use. I run a wholesale jewelry business, and I asked my accountant for the best solution when I first started. I used a desktop software from one of the industry leaders but I felt it was too complicated with too many features. Last year, my accountant recommended Billing Boss to me (http://www.billingboss.com) which is a free online invoicing tools which can currently create unlimited invoices for unlimited customers. It records all the invoices I need, and it also lets my accountant keep track of all the invoices and payments received in real time. It's a lot more straight forward, and I've made way less mistakes - which I know my accountant/bookkeeper appreciates when they work on my files.
