An accountancy student from Birmingham has scored the highest mark in the world in an accountancy exam.

Rebecca Paterson beat 3,661 others to bag the joint top score for the ACCA’s Advanced Taxation paper.

Paterson, who is a senior analyst in accounting separation at Ofwat said: “I am a really pleased to have done so well. I did not expect this as I returned to study five years after leaving university. Juggling a full-time job made it very challenging – not to mention the sheer size and depth of the courses”.

ACCA director Wyn Mears said: “The papers within the ACCA qualification are very challenging and to have come top in such a competitive environment is exceptional”.

Let's compete
I propose that the top student in Adv Tax from ICA compete with ACCA compete with AIA as these three bodies is supposed to have equivalent standards in their exam papers.

Then, go publish the top student who came out tops in this competition.
