AccountingWEB.co.uk held a straw poll of accountants at the recent ICAEW Sole Practitioners' Day in London to find out what life is like for sole practitioners today.

The event, held at Chartered Accountants' Hall in Moorgate, was attended by over 160 sole practitioners from around the country and featured sessions on money laundering regulations, invoice finance and cash flow, and a practical accounting update from Adrian Gibbons of SWATuk.

AccountingWEB.co.uk editor Rebecca Benneyworth was also in attendance, offering topical tax tips in her own inimitable style.

During the recess, the AccountingWEB.co.uk team took the opportunity to meet members and find out more about their practices.

We asked members two main questions: 'Where do you see your practice in five years time?', and 'what's the one thing your practice can't live without'. Watch our video below to find out what they said.

We'd also like to hear from you, the AccountingWEB members. What can't your practice live without? Share your responses below.

What kind of videos would you find more useful? Are there different questions you'd rather we asked next time we go to an event like this? We obviously want to provide things you're interested in watching, so if you let us know what you'd prefer to see, we can work on it.
