Support statistics for January, unveiled by tax software developer, PTP, demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment to provide the highest standards of customer service through its technical support lines.

Even during the busiest weeks of the year when online filing queries are at their peak, the majority of incoming calls were answered directly by a member of the highly experienced support team who was able to offer one-to-one advice to resolve the user’s issue. If a situation arose when all the support team were engaged speaking to customers and a return call was required, the average time taken to return the call was just 14 minutes.

It appears that PTP customers were ‘blissfully unaware’ of the problems being experienced by those attempting to file their returns online via the HMRC web site. The following e-mail from a PTP user, Sally Dunlop, demonstrates:

‘Just e-mailing to say that as usual PTP has had another successful year with online filing. Hearing and reading about accountants using HMRC software, I can’t understand why are they putting themselves through hell to save money?

‘Yes, we have to pay PTP for the products but the time we save, must outweigh it even for a small practice like ours. Even managed a few late ones - please pass on my thanks to the team and here’s to another successful year.’

PTP is often referred to by its loyal customer base as the ‘unsung hero of the tax world’ with more than 5,000 accountants relying on its great value tax software, its excellent technical support and the highest standards of customer service, throughout the year.

The direct sales approach and emphasis on the quality of its customer support services enables PTP to build strong relationships with its customers and is key in securing satisfaction and retention. The 93% customer retention rate is indicative of the close working relationship that members of the PTP team have developed with their users.
