Celebrities face gift aid tax probe. By Dan Martin
HMRC is investigating whether some of the UK's top television personalities used a charity tax incentive scheme for personal gain, according to press reports.
The 'Sunday Times' said celebrities including comedian David Baddiel and presenter Angus Deayton have claimed thousands of pounds using the gift aid system.
It is alleged that those under investigation bought shares in very small companies before floating them on the stock market until their value rose and donating them to charities.
