As top European football clubs gear up for the introduction of FIFA’s Financial Fair Play rules, AccountingWEB takes a closer look at the accounting challenges following the latest Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance.
The UEFA Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations come into play as of the 2010/11 season and will require clubs competing in UEFA competitions to aim to ‘break-even’ - and based on the recent Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance for the 2009/10 accounts, most top clubs would fail, reports Alex Miller.
