House of Lords Committee to publish report on Finance Bill

  • House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee looks at the Finance Bill each year
  • The Committee reports on a few selected topics
  • The changes to tax relief for pension contributions are included in the review this year
  • The report will be published on Tuesday 23 June

The House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee will publish its annual report on the Finance Bill this week.  Each year, following the budget, the House of Lords appoints a sub-committee to examine selected aspects of the Finance Bill. Its reports focus on issues of tax administration, clarification and simplification rather than rates or incidence of tax.

This year the Committee have been looking specifically at three aspects of the Finance Bill:
