PAYE Online: Employers' repayments delayed
Delays in processing 2004/05 employers' annual returns on a new computer system mean that some employers are having to wait longer than usual for repayment of excessive PAYE remittances.
The ICAEW's Tax Faculty complained that news of the delay was not posted on HMRC's main What's New pages, the layout and maintenance of which it described as "confusing and poorly managed".

What about my client who is owed £62K some of which has been owed since April 2004. Not only that, since April 2005 a lot more is owed.
Why can't HMRC refund on a monthly basis. A refund slip can be sent in and once it is checked a refund sent out.
