HMRC should be "extremely concerned" about the lack of confidence tax agents have in its computer systems, accountancy bodies has warned.
The joint report from groups including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Association of Accounting Technicians found although their was strong enthusiasm for e-services, agents expressed several concerns about HMRC's ability to deliver robust and reliable systems.
An overwhelming majority of 96.5% of respondents believed paper substitute tax returns will be needed beyond 2008 despite HM
