Tax law rewrite almost at an end

The Tax Law Rewrite project is to be wound up next year with the issue of two final Bills. The remainder of the Corporation tax legislation rewrite is almost complete, with the second Bill which covers losses and other areas due for release next year, and one further Bill covering International aspects coming through at the same time. At that point the rewrite project will have covered all frequently used tax legislation and the project will come to a natural end.

People should be aware that a firm decision has already been taken to close the rewrite project. This news release: -

explains: -

" 4. Earlier this year HMRC consulted the representative bodies and firms which have supported and contributed to the rewrite
work about the future of the project. The decision to close the project once the work on hand has been completed reflects the views
of the majority of those responding".

The project has done a superb job but many felt it was time to call it a day.
