TAX NEWS: Tories join inheritance tax debate. By Dan Martin
The Conservatives have joined the latest discussion over the burden of inheritance tax (IHT) saying they are considering proposals to exempt a deceased person's main home from the 40% levy.
According to the 'Daily Telegraph', shadow chancellor George Osborne said the Tories are looking into reform of the system including exempting primary homes, increasing the threshold and cutting the rate.
