A government consultation that hopes to make residency rules clearer should make life simpler for tax advisers and reduce litigation, according to tax advisers.

The consultation on residency rules is one of two Treasury consultations announced last month. The other consultation is on changing tax rules for non-domiciles in an effort to encourage investment to the UK.
