At the end of this week (well, in the way of these things, I’m writing in the future tense about something that will have happened already by the time you read it) I’m off to a residential conference with the Institute for Fiscal Studies, a conference about the Mirrlees Review: which it says, will take account of changes in the goals of the tax system, the way in which it affects behaviour, and the increasingly globalised economic and institutional environment in which it has to operate.

We might suppose that those of us who work at the taxation coalface would be interested in this.
