Access drops 'accounting' from new brand

From 1 July the company formerly known as Access Accounting is bringing its five subsidiary companies into one group that will be called Access, just Access.
"What we've done by bringing these groups and their software together is very much the kind of exercise our customers ask us to do," explained Access founder and chairman Alistair O'Reilly.
The point of the exercise, he added, was to emphasise the David & Goliath nature of the company's challenge to international software brands such as Microsoft, Sage and SAP.
"We're elevating ourselves to be recognised as a mid-market company ourselves. We represent ourselves as the kind of company we serve," he said.
Another important aspect of the change was to reflect how Access is becoming more of a consulting company. "Wherever you see Access, you'll see consulting, software ands solutions," O'Reilly added. "Those three words sum up everything we do."
- Five subsidiary companies amalgamated into single Access group
- New brand emphasises consulting, software and solutions
- "We specifically target the mid-market and we want to elevate our brand to reflect that," explains chairman Alistair O'Reilly
- Why software brands are important: "We don't sell software consulting or services, we sell trust."
