US software developer InformationActive is expanding its range of data analysis tools with ActiveData for Office, a suite that allows the user to interrogate files and append analytical notes within Microsoft Office documents, reports our sister site AccountingWEB.com.

ActiveData for Office follows in the footsteps of ActiveData for Excel, an Add-In that includes routines for summarising data groups (such as invoices), spotting entries that exceed the group norms and identifying duplicate entries. The Excel edition is claimed by the supplier to be the fastest growing computer-aided audit tool in the world.

ActiveData for Office expands the spreadsheet program's 65,000 row barrier and extends its reach to other office documents. ActiveData for Office is available for $499, and a 30-day demonstration copy of the application can be downloaded from the InformationActive website.
