Agresso and CODA owner rebrands as UNIT4

Unit 4 Agresso, the Dutch software conglomerate that owns both Agresso and CODA, announced today that it will now be known as UNIT4.

The company’s acquisition of developers such as CODA in 2008 has helped it to become Europe’s second largest ERP software developer, according to group marketing manager Dave Turner.

Turner emphasised that the Agresso and CODA software products and brand names would be just as prominent within the renamed organisation and said that the branding exercise was intended to “clear up” any conflicts between the corporate and product names.

“We now have a neutral corporate name, UNIT4 and can offer Agresso, CODA and other productss around the group,” he said. “The global brand pulls together the group from being a loosely set of subsidiaries into a very focused single entity with a clear vision and mission statement. It’s about the next stage of our growth as a company and creating a platform for us to grow organically and by acquisition.”

By presenting itself as UNIT4, it now had a global software brand that could stand alongside SAP, Oracle and Infor, he added. FinancialForce.com, the company's Cloud accounting joint venture with Salesforce.com, was a separate entity and would not be affected by the change.
