<b>Technology News:</b> Rutherford Webb sells out to GOWI Group

Payroll software developer Rutherford Webb has been acquired by the GOWI group, an acquisitive software solutions company specialising in human resources and content management systems.

Rutherford Webb was formed by John Rutherford in the early 1980s to offer payroll bureau services and then software. In the late 1990s, it developed Staffpay.com, and online payroll service, but this was quietly retired in the aftermath of the 2001 dotcom bust.
