Business software industry launches code of practice
At the recent Softworld Accounting & Finance event, the business software trade body BASDA issued a code of practice for application software vendors.
More than 80 of the association's members signed up to the code, which was issued in part to counteract the effect of high-profile software disasters such as those that have befallen Sainsbury's and the National Health Service.
"Many of those are to do with bespoke projects. BASDA's members are packaged software developers who wanted to say that we've got no problems," said BASDA chief executive Dennis Keeling.
