A recent article on Web 2.0 technology and accountancy practices sparked much heated and occasionally relevant debate. With suspicious, but entirely coincidental, timing, one of the debate's key protagonists, Dennis Howlett, announced the launch of a new venture which he feels may mark a turning point in the profession's development.

"FreeAgent Central" is a poor choice of product name. "Free Agent" is already a popular freeware Newsgroup reader. See www.forteinc.com . It is the free version of Forte's set of Usenet client programs.
