Gadget Monitor: HP adds GPS to iPaqs

HP has succeeded in putting some distance between its iPaq Pocket PC range and the recently improved Palm models.

Having squeezed a pretty impressive set of Microsoft Windows features into a handheld device, what else could they offer? Not everyone wants to combine their PDA with their mobile phone, so 'convergence' is never going to be the final answer. HP have therefore come up with the natural companion application for a PDA ' GPS.

HP now supplies a range of satellite navigation kits for existing iPaqs plus a new model, the iPaq rz1710 navigator which has a GPS receiver built in.
