Review: HP LaserJet P4015n printer

Technology correspondent Jon Wilcox puts toner to printer with his look at the P4015 LaserJet from HP. Printers: They’re not exactly the sexiest technologies on the market, but despite the continuing drive towards the utopian notion of the ‘paperless office’ they remain an important fixture in most offices; the popularity of IT Zone’s guide to printers proves that. Here, we take a look at HP’s LaserJet P4015n. The largest technology company in the world, Hewlett Packard needs little introduction – the same can be said for many of its products, which include notebook and desktop PCs, printers, and servers. The year 2009 marks HP's 25th year as a printer manufacturer. So how does the P4015n hold up this tradition? Boasting a printing speed in excess of 50ppm (pages per minute), the P4015n certainly hits the ground running. It’s always a good measure of a printer’s capabilities when it’s spat out the first few pages before you even reach the paper tray. The ‘n’ model has a capacity of 600 pages spread out between two paper trays, though higher models in the range feature a third tray that takes the figure in excess of 1,000 pages. For the more environmentally conscious, the P4015n is Energy Star compliant (provided the optional duplex accessory is enabled), in line with HP’s strategy to deliver greener technology.
