Hardware news: New multifunction Xerox Phasers for SMEs

Print specialist Xerox has packaged new multifunction printer-scanner-fax devices for the small and mid-size business market. The A4 Phaser 3300MFP laser device starts from £416 and can output up to 28 PostScript and PCL pages a minute.

The scanner can cope with colour and black and white documents, and store the scanned image to a USB memory stick or the PC's desktop for instant viewing. Documents can also be selected for printing from USB drives inserted into the machine's control panel.

The Workcentre 4260 is an A3 workgroup system starting at £2,360. Both machines can be bought under cost-per-page contracts from the manufacturer.

"These new products bring some of the technology from our enterprise-level products to the lower end of our portfolio to help businesses of all sizes manage work better and streamline their document management processes," said Darren Cassidy, director of Xerox's UK Office Group.
