A new meaning to "convergence"

From the press coverage, there's no question about the star of the show - the TASER MPH (Music Player Holster), which as well as holding your TASER C2 stun gun will store and play 1Gb of MP3 files.

So there will be no more worries about personal for evening joggers who like to hear tunes or motivational podcasts while they dash through the twilight. Anyone who looms out at you with evil intentions can be seen off with a jolt of 50,000 volts.

The device is being clearly targeted as a fashion item for women and comes in pink, red and simulation leopard print finishes.

"These new product are a result of listening to our customers. Personal protection can be both fashionable and functionable," said Rick Smith, CEO and founder of TASER International. "The TASER C2 leopard print design provides a personal protection option for women who want fashion with a bite."

Such is the truly bonkers nature of modern consumer electronics. Just in case you fancy one, they are currently illegal for anyone to use in the UK other than a
police officer.
