IRIS takes stake in FreeAgent Central

The tax and practice wing of IRIS has taken a minority shareholding in FreeAgent Central, one of the UK’s pioneers of Cloud accounting.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but as part of the arrangement IRIS Accountancy Practice Solutions managing director Phill Robinson will take a position on the FreeAgent Board.

Count me in with glass half full
Adrian - so refreshing to find someone looking at the positives, ie kicking the Any Answers trend. Absolutely right this makes perfect sense and they have almost certainly done the right thing in holding back till they can identify the right horse for the job.
I read with interest the point about all the heavy lifting of client info before it can be processed through Iris. This hasn't been too much of a problem for us in that we've trained clients, whichever system they use, to produce import csvs but it's assisting & supporting clients' recordkeeping across several platforms (spreadsheet - Sage) that is inefficient and I've held back from signing up with a "Cloud" solution in the hope that Iris would make a move.
Fingers crossed but I see good times ahead and 6% is well worth it!

Hi Paul - yes, there is no reason accountants should be so change-averse and cynical, but it seems many of our number are too quick to find a negative.
With regard to the problem of "supporting clients across several platforms", stay tuned ..
IRIS COSTS
The price of Iris software ( limited number of clients ) keeps on going and the competition appears to be giving Unlimited number of clients for half the price any other users have any thoughts on this ?



Ahh that's why my annual costs have risen by 6%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
