NEC has announced the launch of a "short-throw" projector that can project a 60 inch picture from a distance of 10 inches. The company says that its WT610 model "offers new wireless functionality to deliver the most flexible, high-quality projector available within both corporate and public display environments.

The WT610 is uses aspheric mirrors, and, says NEC, "removes the need to re-arrange displays to prevent viewers from blocking the projector path."

Launching the projector, NEC said in a statement that "Second generation IEEE802.11b/g wireless LAN (Local Area Network) functionality means it can be connected to a wireless network for additional flexibility. It allows
content streaming, giving users the ability to create and deliver a more powerful presentation with the inclusion of display animations and moving and dynamic media. XGA images can be transferred in just one second."

Further information on the projector can be found at www.nec.co.uk
