Outsourcing prospers in corporate accounting

  • Survey by outsourcer finds that corporate finance managers like outsourcing
  • More than three-quarters plan to expand expenditure in 2010
  • Other sectors less keen, but BPO works for accounting, order processing and expenses

Finance managers are backing business process outsourcing in the corporate world, according to specialist provider WNS.

In its Annual CFO survey for 2010l WNS found that 85% of finance directors in organisations turning over more than $3bn were happy with the benefits they gained from finance and accounting outsourcing services.
The image of outsourcing has been tarnished in other sectors, but for general accounting, order processing and travel and expenses administration the third-party approach is delivering cost savings and better control, WNS claimed.

The study found that more than three-quarters of the 100 finance executives polled actively planned to expand their outsourcing investment in 2010.
