PDF Diary: A better way to create electronic forms. By Simon Hurst

For my first experiment creating an online order form with Acrobat, I converted a Word document and added interactive text fields using the form tools available via the Advanced Editing menu option.

Whilst this approach was ideal for quickly turning an existing form into an electronic one, I also wanted to explore some of the more sophisticated Adobe form design tools available.

Although this comment may sound like a sale pitch is not really meant to be. Online forms are becoming very important to businesses and it is important to make an informed choice as to a product that will have a significant impact on your business processes both internal and externally.

As a technical engineer in IBM I sit in and assist on some of the upcoming events for Workplace Forms and I am amazed by this technology. The presenter, Dave Hay, does mention rival products where appropriate and the major differences between them in context. The IBM product is easy to use and very flexible and will provide tangible benefits to your business. IBM is hosting a "Deep Dive" presentation on Friday the 19th of May at IBM Hursley and if online forms are of interest this session would be very informative.
