Software firm Sage has bought Irish-based Apex Software International for £15.7m in cash. Apex provides PC based solutions for accountants in practice.

The move follows the acquisition by Sage subsidiary Tetra International Limited of the entire share capital of Adaptus Software Services Limited for £3.5m in cash last week. Adaptus is a provider of telesales, EDI and warehousing applications.

I don't care
So long as Sage sort out the problems at CSM I don't care what they do. However, will they have time when they continue on their acquisition trail and what of the cost?

SAGE BUREAU PAYROLL v APEX IBIS2 BUREAU PAYROLL
As a payroll bureau user I am concerned about the future conflict between the IBIS2 system we currently use and Sage's own bureau system. The Sage system has a far larger user base and I therefore anticipate the Ibis2 system to be phased out. Am I pessimistic, realistic or just plain paranoid?

Congratulations to Sage
I have just seen Auditman which I use for my software being eaten up and Apex who I was going to buy a product from and who supply my Tax software being snaffled .

The gentleman from Auditman who assured me everything is under control has been relocated to his front room !
If I buy this product will it be supported in a few months ?

Can anyone recommend some good accounting software and a time recording package ?

Thanks
