In the run-up to the release of the next version of Line 100's successor, Sage UK has overhauled its mid-market division.

Soon after Paul Stobart took over from Graham Wylie as Sage UK managing director last year, he created a new division to to consolidate the company's presence in that sector, where Sage claimed it held a lead with revenues of £40m from its different product lines, including Sage Line 50.

In a recent email to resellers, Sage explained that it planned to "evolve the current Mid Market Division from a collection of separate product businesses into a single business containing a series of market-focused units."

As well as Line 50 and MMS, Sage markets Line 100, Line 200 and Line 500 and the Advantage Series ERP suite it acquired from Accpac at the beginning of 2004. While Sage Line 50 remains the responsibility of the "new business" division of Sage, the ERP product families will be brought together within the consolidated mid-market business under the overall leadership of chief technology officer David Karlin.

The mid-market business will also include vertical market units to address construction, manufacturing and one focusing on Sage's customer relationship management products.
