SMEs not prepared for WEEE regulations

Many SMEs are still oblivious to the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) directive, despite a key deadline passing this week, according to a new survey. Lucie Benson reports.

The results of the poll, conducted by WStore, an online reseller of business and IT equipment, worryingly showed that 47% of respondents admitted they were unaware of the packaging regulations and had never heard of the WEEE legislation. A further 60% were not implementing policies or procedures to cater for the new regulations.
