'Software is over,' says Salesforce.com CEO Benioff

Traditional packaged software "is over", according to Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff, who brought the software as a service company's bandwagon to its first international user event at London's Barbican last week.

As reported by our sister community MyCustomer.com, Benioff claimed that “Web 3.0 is now upon us." The emerging software market is now controlled by "platform" systems such as Google Apps, Amazon Web Services and Facebook.
