South Wales-based Diamond Discovery will be a new name to most readers – it was for me, writes Nigel Harris. Although the company started in 1983 it is only this year that it launched its entry-level Prelude package, in conjunction with Formjet Innovations, a specialist in alternative software solutions, aimed at start-up and micro businesses. As such, it goes head-to-head with existing packages such as Sage Instant and MYOB Business Basics. How does it compare?

For those who want to take advantage of the increased threshold, Diamond Discovery Software now includes the option to use VAT Cash Accounting.

Another important release is that of the Job Costing module.

Our new Payroll System, which includes the ability to deal with Construction Industry sub-contract workers, is due for release by the end of November.
