24 Aug - Apple announced a 28 Aug release date for the next version of Mac OSX.
21 Aug - Oracle's proposed acquisition of Sun Microsystems is approved by the US Justice Department.
12 Aug - Google unveils 'Caffeine', its next-generation search system.
11 Aug - Facebook to take over FriendFeed, the company's first acquisition in over 2 years.
10 Aug - Tax specialist BTCSoftware has released a stripped down “express” edition of its personal tax application for £175.<br />
6 Aug - Windows 7 starts shipping to Microsoft hardware and software partners. Full commercial availability will take place in stages between now and October.<br />
4 Aug - Microsoft releases XP Mode release candidate, enabling businesses to test software migration and compatibility on the upcoming Windows 7.<br />
3 Aug - Concur confirms acquisition of French expenses management developer Etap-On-Line to cement its position as leading supplier of on demand spend management services.
