Stewart Twynham's IT security diary: Microsoft patches and Skype woes
It’s obviously been a fairly active few weeks at Microsoft - with the most recent patch day release sneaking in several quite interesting items amongst a particularly comprehensive series of critical fixes.
Aside from the almost ubiquitous fixes for Internet Explorer, Active-X, Excel and GDI (Graphic Device Interface), one "critical" patch covered XML Core Services which is viewed by many as a core part of the operating system and fundamental to the way Windows actually works.
