Many accountants and professional bodies use social networking website Twitter to share their words of wisdom, so we've rounded up a selection of accounting tweeters you may wish to follow.
Twitter name: @dahowlett
A full time blogger on innovation for professional accountants, some might know him as AccMan. Howlett has 30 years experience in the world of IT related finance, ten of which were spent as a partner in a UK firm of chartered accountants. According to his blog page, he’s ‘never knowingly under opinionated’.
Twitter name: @jpointon
Pointon is an accountant, as well as a tax and business consultant, and writes a blog for entrepreneurs and SMEs about how to grow your business. His motto is ‘in business to grow your business’.
Twitter name: @BookMarkLee
As chairman of the Tax Advice Network and a regular speaker and blogger on the accounting circuit (not to mention consultant practice editor for AccountingWEB), Mark Lee offers practical tips and guidance to help practices flourish.

Coltman is a chartered accountant who focuses on helping home based businesses. She also makes bespoke screencasts for the accounting and finance markets.

Young is managing director of 1st Addition Accountancy Limited and also writes and blogs regularly for various magazines and online titles. He writes about all aspects of accounts, bookkeeping and tax, as well as covering general business topics.

Hunter is a partner at George Hay Chartered Accountants and describes herself as a 'networking junkie'. She specialises in dealing with small and start up businesses, and is an auditor of companies in a variety of industry sectors, including manufacturing and financial services.

Murphy is founder of the Tax Justice Network and director of Tax Research LLP and a prolific writer and blogger on taxation and accounting issues. In parallel with his practice career, Murphy has been a chairman, chief executive and finance director of more than ten SMEs.

Maslin is a self employed chartered accountant and tax adviser and specialises in helping entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.

Dormer is an active member of the AccountingWEB community and owner of Seahorse (UK) Ltd, a firm offering support and consultancy services for accountants and bookkeepers. He describes himself as an ‘accountant, tax adviser and all round good guy’.

Looking for tech buddy? Messik specialises in internet based accounting systems and regularly blogs on SaaS and internet accounting related issues. He’s also a practising chartered accountant and partner in a UK top 20 firm, and founder of Easycounting Limited.
