TomorrowNow yesterday's news as SAP previews results, BI tools

An SAP quarterly statement appeared to announce plans to auction off TomorrowNow, the troublesome subsidiary it only bought two years ago.

SAP acquired TomorrowNow in mid January 2005 as a means to woo away maintenance and support customers from Oracle, shortly after Oracle acquired PeopleSoft. But the firm's fourth quarter prelimenary results announcement noted that the company is "required to present its results of discontinued operations [TomorrowNow] separately from its results from continuing operations".

TomorrowNow became an acute embarrassment to SAP.
