Ever-acquisitive IT reseller Technology Services Group Ltd (TSG) added another subsidiary to its portfolio at the end of June in a deal with PJ Howlett Business Systems of Preston.

Business Systems has been serving the North West market since 1979, and experience installing and supporting Pegasus Opera and Opera II software. The company currently has 10 staff supporting 170 customers and will help to increase TSG's annualised turnover to around £38m.

Company founder Peter Howlett said: "Business Systems was built on the foundations of offering professional independent advice in the SME marketplace covering a broad range of IT products and services. Throughout our 25 years' experience providing hardware and software support solutions we've built up an enviable level of experience in tailoring packages individually for our customers' needs. Becoming a part of TSG will allow us to continue our service tradition and broaden our product range, supported by an army of additional technical expertise from within the group."

TSG North West regional managing director Simon Cook said the new subsidiary's customer service ethos fitted well with the TSG business model and the new Preston-based office would allow the company to expand its services to Carlisle and beyond.

The deal was also welcomed by Pegasus managing director Gary Turner, who said: "TSG is a key, strategic partner for Pegasus and this latest acquisition is important for both organisations as it further extends the exposure of both companies' brands and operations in a key geographical area."
