AccountingWEB's IT Zone has a rival for your attention offering a menu of usefultips on Windows, Outlook and related technologies - Ryan Williams' Tech Better blog on our sister site, AccountingWEB.com.

Williams is a business technology consultant based in Southern Georgia and the chief technology officer at Nexxtep Technology Services, a local IT services provider. He writes that his special interest is helping businesses improve their office efficiency, communication and project management through better use of technology.

Recent tips in his column have included instructions about how to add icons for specific Outlook actions to the Windows task bar. "Clicking is simply too much effort, my finger gets tired," he writes. "I want everything just one click away." He then demonstrates a quick sequence of modifications to unlock and alter the Windows taskbar, and gives Outlook the same treatment in his next post.

It's a welcome addition to the growing catalogue of tip sites, many of which you can find in our ExcelZone links page. Rather than repeating the same material here, we thought it would be more helpful to direct readers to Ryan's US-based host site. And if you like your IT productivity tips with a dash of English wit, Simon Hurst's Beancounters' guide to technology is also worth a visit.
