What about the recent (2010/11) comedy action film about the Forensic Accoutant that worked for the Police Force that was more Naked Gun than Top Gun. We saw it recently and I think it was called The Other Guys. Very very funny. I'd definitely reccommend it.

Just out - "The Accountant" character is the supernatural operative of Satan sent from hell to reclaim the soul of John Milton, played in usual style by Nicolas Cage.

So at least he's not as dull as the usual movie depiction.

Becky if you want ideas to improve AW getting rid of this stuff would be helpful and putting in something far more relevant

PS born Dull is about right , unfortunately no irony there !

Thank you for your feedback, Carnmores, but any blame for regurgitating old content should be laid at my door.

This article was prompted by the previous Any Answers item on how accountants are portrayed in the movies, which proved very popular. That encouraged me to go back and look for the original 2001 article, which I found in a database dump. Rather than just posting it, I asked members of the Accounting humour and fun group first and the universal response was to go for it.

One member said Born Dull?!" was the reason they joined AccountingWEB in the first place.

We try and provide a relevant and professional service, but after a long week on the spreadsheets and tax returns, it seems other members quite enjoy a bit of light relief.

Unless there is a big backlash (post below if you would like to support Carnmore's complaint), we plan to run more of these sorts of items in future. All I can suggest is that you make a point of ignoring any items with "Born Dull?!" in the headline.

Have a good weekend.

... sounds more like a porn film!

This is the greatest accountant film ever, only seen it once, waiting in vain hope for it to be shown again:
