The 2007 Digita Conference agenda announced today features keynote speeches from today’s thought leaders on professional, governmental and technological issues; a range of CPE-accredited educational opportunities; insights on best practices; and information on the latest tools and trends.

Keynote speakers covering hot topics include:

• Julian Hatt, Head of Communications & Stakeholder Engagement, HM Revenue & Customs. A qualified tax inspector, Julian has joined a new HMRC Programme formed to implement the recommendations made by Lord Carter of Coles in his March 2006 report "Review of HMRC Online Services".
• Arthur West, eServices Team; Phil Coates, Companies Act Implementation Manager, Companies House. Arthur and Phil are part of the new Companies House Programme formed to implement the new Companies Act 2006.
• David Heaton, Tax Partner, Baker Tilly. David is an expert in employment taxes and national insurance. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983, has been a Fellow of the ICAEW since 1995 and a Chartered Tax Adviser since 1986. He has also been member of the Employer Taxes and NIC Committee of the ICAEW since 1993 and member of the Personal Taxes Committee of the CIOT since 1990. He is author of CCH's National Insurance Contributions annual, a regular contributor to Tolley's Tax Planning annual, a monthly contributor to Accountancy magazine and a regular speaker at accountancy and tax training courses.
• Richard Mannion, National Tax Director, Smith & Williamson. Richard is a former President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and is currently a member of the Institute’s Technical and Personal Tax Committees. He is also a member of the HM Revenue & Customs Working Together project. Richard won the LexisNexis Lifetime Achievement award in 2006.
• Bill Docherty, specialist in the Science and Art of Persuasive Communication. Bill was a District Inspector of Taxes in the Inland Revenue and has worked in practice with Andersen, PriceWaterhouse and Robson Rhodes. Bill is a Chartered Accountant who is qualified in NLP as a Master Practitioner and NLP certified trainer
• Steve Besford, Director, Chilton plc. Steve joined Chiltern in 1998 as part of the tax investigations group, his previous career having included 15 years with the Inland Revenue. His principal involvement is in serious fraud enquiries instigated by the HMRC’s Special Civil Investigations office.
• Shaun Crozier, IT Director Outsource Specialist ie Taxguard. Shaun manages the technology of one of the UK’s largest providers of specialised tax return services with customers throughout the UK and overseas. Controlled from a centre in Peterborough, large scale tax return preparation is performed in India as well as a wide range of additional services including will services, stock broking and insurance.
