About me

Michael is a Chartered, Clinical and Occupational Psychologist operating from the UK. He founded and ran ICAS, a psychological services and employees support company for 20 years. During that time he built the business from nothing, in a market which did not then exist in the UK. When Michael sold the business in 2007 the telephone helpdesk which he had run single-handed was taking 300 calls a day, the number of employees had risen to almost 200 plus 600 affiliate counsellors, and hundreds of corporate clients. Additionally, he had opened more than a dozen overseas offices carrying the ICAS brand, from most of the western Europe capitals to South America, Mexico, South Africa, India and Taiwan.

Since selling and leaving ICAS Michael has capitalised a new business as one of three subsidiaries to his wholly owned Shenley Holdings Limited. The switch to Human Potential Accounting reflects a change of perception from individually targeted support and remedial assistance (ICAS) to the systemic issues which often inhibit solutions to individual problems (Human Potential Accounting). He has turned his attention specifically to the anomaly that people, who are in principle an organisation’s biggest asset, are poorly accounted for in traditional reporting structures, not only as assets, where they are reckoned as costs, but also as liabilities in terms of the behavioural risks which they represent to any business.

Human Potential Accounting under Michael's leadership has taken time to build a lively and talented team, supported by a robust IT infrastructure, and embracing the highly regarded HR consultancy, People Resolutions and a new Web 2 interactive site (HubCapDigital) designed as a growing library and research portal, drawing from expertise in psychology, HR and financial services.
