About me

Born in Holland. I emigrated to Scotland (1971-75) where I completed my secondary education and was awarded my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. During this period I also attended a week's training with the professional firemen, before accepting a two year term as deputy officer in charge of my school's auxiliary fire service.

1976-1993

An employee in the banking industry, where I consolidated my knowledge of money transmission, international payments, invoice finance and lending, security, credit applications and balance sheet interpretation.

During this period I developed my skills in data base and information management

1993 to date - accountancy or bookkeeping?

There was no choice. Tax management was and still is a very complex subject and my previous experience made me an ideal candidate for bookkeeping and business technology management. It is too easy to label bookkeeping software as a neccessary evil and enjoy helping clients, and their accounting team, to manage software resources cost effectively and minimize the impact of the learning curve.
