Accounting post-MTD: innovation through technology

You'll hear from:

This session will look beyond the compliance horizons of MTD to imagine what accounting life will look like when EVERYTHING is digital.

Our guests will look at the most significant behavioural shifts seen during the pandemic, looking at how firms have adapted their services during 2020-21. Have these new tech-driven services created an ad hoc but sustainable foundation for new growth - or will they interfere with ongoing client service?

Key discussion & learning points in this session:

• Automation: AI, Fintech… Is it all hype or are they beginning to have an impact?

• Human factors: What skills are needed and where accountants will get them?

• How those factors will play out over the next 3-5 years

• What does the future look like from our guests' perspective?

Our Accounting Excellence Talks series offer an opportunity for previous Awards finalists to share their experiences plus feedback on the trends emerging in 2021. Our Talks deliberately push to the edge of the current debate, trying to expand the reference points for other practitioners and offer practical ideas on how to adapt to impending change. Join in the debate and help shape what is Accounting Excellence.
