AML, suspicious activity reports and more

You'll hear from:

Anti-money laundering is a perennial problem for those in the accounting profession.

Only last year, the office for professional body anti-money laundering supervision (OPBAS) criticised the profession for trailing behind the legal sector in effective AML supervision.

In this episode of Any Answers Live we will be joined by an expert panel to take your questions on AML compliance and how to tackle the threat of money laundering.

The episode will reveal the key things you should have on your to-do list if you are the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) or responsible for providing compliance information to the MLRO.

Then, in this new hybrid remote working environment, there is the question of what ‘face to face’ actually means when you only ‘meet’ your clients over Zoom.

The panellists will also react to the recent accounting officer memorandum which highlighted the challenges of the suspicious activity report programme, such as inconsistent levels of compliance, legacy IT systems and insufficient human resource capacity to improve the quality of SARs.

By attending this episode of Any Answers Live you will:

  • Learn how to comply with AML obligations
  • Find out what a successful SAR looks like
  • Discover how to implement a risk-based approach into your practice
  • Get a chance to ask experts your AML questions.

You will earn 1 CPD point by attending this free 45-60 minute session in full
