Clients behaving badly

Join us for Any Answers Live, our live interactive chat show hosted by AccountingWEB Editor Richard Hattersley.
In recent weeks there have been a number of posts on our Any Answers forum bemoaning poor client behaviour. We’ve seen examples of clients not sticking to the terms of the contract, clients wanting an accountant to change their fee structure and clients sending information late.
This increase in poor behaviour has seemingly become more frequent after the Covid lockdown, where accountants rushed to the aid of their small business clients and didn’t charge for extra work such as furlough claims, SEISS support or securing Covid support loans.
On the flip side, some firms go above and beyond to please their clients and say yes to things when they really should be saying no, creating a situation where they offer services to a client that is not the right fit for the practice.
In this episode of Any Answers Live, a panel of experts will be discussing the problems they’ve had with clients behaving badly and offer advice on the ways they’ve solved these common issues seen on Any Answers.
You’ll also have an opportunity to ask the panel your burning question.
By attending this episode you will learn how to:
- Set boundaries and say ‘no’
- Have value in your expertise and work
- Charge what you’re worth
- Know when enough is enough and sack a client
- Bring accountability into your client relationship
Don’t miss out! Secure your place today and make sure you bring your question.
