About this episode
Have you heard that the first ever AccountingWEB Live Expo will be taking place on 1-2 December 2021 at the Coventry Building Society Arena? Attendees can register for a choice of 60+ workshops, panels, lectures and live Q & As across seven theatres. We’ll cover a diverse range of subjects from MTD, Self Assessment and business tax to advisory, the rise of specialism and building your app stack.
Over the six episodes of Expo Talks we’ll be covering the core themes at the Expo, and talking to some of speakers who will be previewing their sessions and revealing what they'll be covering.
In this episode, we look at Inspiration with three of accounting's leading business coaches and mentors - Reza Hooda, Heather Townsend and Carl Reader.
> Reza Hooda is an entrepreneurial accountant helping business owners and accountants to transform their profits by using the EXACT tools, templates and training they need. He mentors and coaches accountants via 1-2-1 mentoring, a Virtual Mastermind programme plus an online monthly mentoring programme designed to give accountants the support, direction and accountability needed to transform the profits of their accounting firms. Obviously not busy enough, Reza trained with PwC before leaving in 2008 to buy into a small traditional firm near Southampton called Walji & Co. In 12 years, he has transformed the firm completely – trebling turnover and achieving profit margins of 50%.
> Heather Townsend is Founder and Author of The Accountants Millionaires’ Club. She is the author of six books, including The Go-To Expert, and Profitable Pricing For Accountants. Heather is a leading global expert in what it takes to move from senior fee earner to partner – and when you get there, stay there. She regularly runs programmes to help fee earners take the step up to partner, and establish themselves as a new partner, for mid-tier law, accountancy and consultancy firms. Her latest venture How To Make Partner is the perfect starting point for anyone looking to step up their career.
> Carl Reader is a small business expert, who has helped thousands of business owners start and grow their businesses. His latest book book Boss It is designed to cut through the business jargon, this handy guide will take you through everything you need to establish and run your own business - from the mindset it takes to turn a dream into a plan, to the need-to-know practical stuff for running and growing a business.
Anyone who's seen these people speak will know they come with hard-hitting advice, practical tips and a wealth of experience. If you're a small firm, a start-up or you've ever asked the question 'What next?' and not known how to answer, the insight and inspiration these speakers offer will be invaluable.
