Initially I was thinking salary/dividends, but having crunched the numbers I think dividends/salary is better some of the time.

I am waiting until 1 April and then when I can't work it, and ICPA are probably unable to help me, I'll ask my friends here.

2016/17 salary/dividend split

From the heading of your question, it seems that you are thinking of paying the salary in 2016 and the dividends in 2017.

Salary/dividend/drawings

No-one's mentioned the option of taking drawings yet.

Some Bloke Down The Pub does it.

my clients are........

all asking their accountant, who will look at the particular circumstances, do a few calculations and then give appropriate advice, and then include my time in a bill.

He will bill for his time as she is in the kitchen making the brews.

Only kidding people. Keep your hair on.

So what...

So what if it has already been discussed. I demand that you spend your time giving me a detailed response to my question. It is my god given right now that I have gone to the trouble of registering with the site and posting my question.

Some people are just SOOOOO rude!

Told my clients there are too many opinions on the matter, so they should all jack it in and go and get proper jobs.

Portia etc

I try not to make assumptions on here because they can frequently be wrong. I can point you to some posts that would demonstrate this.

You have assumed that I am an accountant (which may or may not be the case).

It is conceivable that I provide other services and that my clients have accountants of either gender.

You were lucky

I took my drawings from the front of the fridge, very amateur, you'd of thought a child had done them.
