3 month accounts extension for all clients

Anyone else noticed this?

Didn't find your answer?

Pretty much all of our clients (if not all) have received a 3 month extension for their company accounts at Companies House without any application.

Even an April 2020 YE - due date extended to 30th April 2021.

1) Has anyone else spotted/been affected this?

2) Is it correct or will it change back? Any supporting governement announcement would be welcome.

Thanks

Although I don't have clients (not being in practice), I noticed this the two or three times it's been posted already here

Interesting as the last press release I saw was that businesses had to apply for the 3-month extension but those mentioning C-19 issues would automatically be successful.

Does the CT Return and CT Tax still have the same 9 month deadline? I cant see anything to indicate there is any corresponding 3 month extension for those. But it seems of very limited help to only have the extra 3 months from Companies House

@ barberbuzz.

The standard time limit for CT Returns is 12 (not 9) months. This is notwithstanding a limit of 9 months (plus one day) for payment of the related CT.

Basil.
